a new leaf - Ruby wand necklace. This necklace is made from what is called a Ruby "wand". It is in it's natural state and the end is polished. It has a very pretty deep blue/purple luminescence to it. I have paired a hand fabricated leaf with the Ruby.
It is on a stainless steel chain that measures 20" in length.
I use the same technique that is used in doing stained glass. The jewelry is made from a copper base with jewelry grade, silver solder layered over it. The soldering is done directly onto the stone by hand. There is no nickel or harmful metals here.
I like to put a lot of texture into the metalwork. I have darkened it with patina and polished the finished pendant.
